The next step is to optimize the design. Rainpower attaches significant importance to maintaining the turbine's qualities at the same time as using available technology. 

The result is a turbine that delivers something close to the maximum performance possible using current technology, whilst still maintaining the turbine's qualities and operating security. 

To a large extent upgrading and modernizing existing hydropower plants involves combining new and old technology into a functioning unit. A new, modern turbine in an older plant can boost the efficiency of the plant by several percent, at the same time as significantly improving output and production.
